Blue Jackets lose 3-2 to the New York Rangers

It was an entertaining game , one I would give the cbj the benefit of the doubt , because the Rangers are playing just that well.

That being said, I saw a serious confidence problem, could it be related to the talk they had with Torts asking for him to calm (knew that scumbag hasn't changed one bit) , don't know. the offence was being generated , Raata was solid , I think the team needs to calm down , play their game and get the wheel rolling again .

I tried to tell you guys during your big winning streak. As long as you keep winning torts is very humble and likeable but when adversity comes he's like billy Martin was with the Yankees his poop gets old fast. The best thing is to start winning again but don't expect much help from torts till you do he hasn't changed if you think he will your kidding yourself.

Nuts!

The meeting stuff has no background for anyone to make any judgments. All there is a unsourced report that the players said something, whatever it was we don't know, to the coach.

Who tipped off the media? What was actually said by Torts that supposedly got this response from the players? Nobody knows, but because it is Torts it will be played as a meltdown of epic proportions because people didn't like him in Tampa, New York, and Vancouver. Some of that he deserves, but in Columbus he has done a great job with a young team and has not had any kind of meltdown. This is a bogus story.

The CBJ has not played well for a month now, that's the second time in 2017 they threw away a game against the Rangers by some horrible mistakes. If he was a little angry or irritated he's not the first coach to let a team have it. They worked very hard and played well for the most part last night, only to give up two awful goals and a marginal one a minute after they tied the game up at 2-2.

Since nobody knows what is happening in the locker room, maybe we ought to just keep comments about what's going on in games, that is enough to scare anyone.

Wild Card here we come....

I thought we played our most complete game since the All Star Break. Rangers speed burnt us. Perhaps JJ and Savard not playing together for weeks hurt their communication as breakdowns between the two caused the last two goals along with that Ranger speed. We will be fine if last nights effort continues.

yeah i noticed torts reverted to using Nuutivaara (not saying he sucks) a litlle too much, understandable since Savy is coming back from injury.

i completely agree, I like to think Eliott Friedman is a credible source (the guy from sportsnet who came out with this story) , unfortunately because it's torts this is all unsurprising and unfortunate, he had a chance to change and in the end he's the same old school coach trying to put fear in his guys (although some may argue he's progressive on the morning skate thing).

Let's see. A team that has never won more than 43 games in a season or reached 95 points is one of the 10 best in the league. And, for what its worth, they would be 19-15-5 without the 16 game winning streak. A season that is exceeding every expectation, reasonable and unreasonable. Multiple players having career years, the youngest defense corps in the league, and several solid prospects in the pipeline. So, let's all whine and gripe about the coach.
Are they better than Washington or Pittsburgh? No, but neither is anyone else in the league. Fourth would be great-I'd love to see what they could do in the Atlantic.
